FAQ’s

What can I expect at my facial appointment?

Plan to arrive to your first appointment about 15 minutes early. You will need to fill out a form listing contact information, allergies, and any medications that you are currently taking. Then your esthetician will evaluate your skin using a magnify lamp, ask you about your goals for your skin, and make a recommendation for skincare products and treatments to help you reach those goals. A facial generally consists of a cleansing, exfoliation, steam (in the form of warm towels or a steamer), massage, a treatment mask, and a moisturizer.

WHAT ARE THE TOWELS MADE FROM ?

Scrummi towels are made from 100% soft and natural biodegradable wood fibres from certified sustainable sources.

HOW DO I DISPOSE OF THEM ?

Scrummi towels are biodegradable so can go in with any biodegradable waste such as food, hair or brown card recycling. The towels will decompose within 3 months under ideal decomposable conditions. The towels can also be added to the normal rubbish for landfill where they will breakdown and leave no blight on the environment. We also have large Scrummi branded biodegradable bags that can hold over 110 wet Scrummi towels. They’re 100% biodegradable and can be added to any order for just £6 per roll of 25 bags.

Do I have to use anything else with Water Treatment & Conditioner?

For the majority of our customers, the Natural Hot Tub Company Water Treatment and Conditioner and an oxidizer are the primary products needed. There are two oxidizers that are effective: 99% sodium dichlor chlorine granules or a non-chlorine shock oxidizer such as Leisure Time Renew. There are occasions that additional products may be needed such as a calcium increaser, a stain and scale preventor, and/or a clarifier. We highly recommend using a Carbon Block/Redox Pre-filter.

The Pre-filter will remove heavy metals and unwanted minerals that are often found in well water as well as municipal water.

Recently I noticed my Spa water was getting a little cloudy.. why ??

Cloudy water may be caused by several things. Deodorants, lotions, body creams, soap residue in bathing suits, and make-up. Another cause can be from not performing filter maintenance frequently enough. Your hot tub circulation should be running 6 – 8 hours a day. Refer to your hot tub manual or instructions on how to adjust that setting. To clear up cloudy water first clean your filters with The Natural Hot Tub Company Filter Soak and then rinse your filters thoroughly. If it is necessary to repeat this process, you can rinse your filters without having to use the Filter Soak. Add a heavy dose of oxidizer (99% Dichlor chlorine granules or a non-chlorine shock). Turn on the jets for two cycles. Repeat this process daily until you get crystal clear water. If your water remains cloudy after performing this process, it could indicate your filters have lost their efficiency and we would recommend purchasing a new ones.
